Day 19.

March 18, 2012.

Sunday is indeed family day. Quiet moments with the family are the best. I say quality time is QUANTITY time. So I am striving for this as early as now to have more time with them in the future, doing all the things we love and we have dreamed about. I will make this a reality. This is my oath to them.

Day 18.

March 17, 2012 One thing that I am thankful for in this endeavor is that I get to reconnect with friends I haven’t been with for quite a while. A quick but sincere conversation with one of my high school bestfriends, Jill, is one the highlights of this day. I am really happy that I will have more chances of seeing her now and witness how she grows herself, her family and her business. In one loving community. Reunions are fun. Especially if there’s no arrogance nor pretense. I love my friends :)

Day 17.

March 16, 2012.

This was a long and happy day. On my last hearing as an OLA intern, the HLURB arbiter actually noticed the transformation in me. Ang galing! Of all people! Hahaha! Yes - because I was feeling better from the inside, I was also looking good on the outside. Amazing. Then I had an awesome bonding session with Melai over coffee with an animated conversation about life, and most especially, about food. It felt so good to share what you know and influence another person to do what is best for her. I am excited for great things that are about to happen!
The day ended with a joyous birthday surprise for our dear friend Diego. The food was amazing and the conversations were wonderful. It was so nice to have ample time to talk and catch up with friends sans stressful things associated with a live event. Hahaha!

The food truck craze has officially hit Manila, Philippines by way of the Guactruck, a modern mobile eatery full of sustainable initiatives. The truck itself is a used delivery truck that has been outfitted locally with LED and energy-saving lighting.

Too bad this Filipino-Mexican food truck can’t swing its way elsewhere in the world for a peek at the truck and a chance to taste the delicious-looking food.

The design for the packaging is a creative solution to the wastefulness that most containers are today with it’s single cardboard, origami-inspired design. It’s made of biodegradable paperboard that is easy to recycle. Customers are encouraged to bring their used packaging back and will receive a free meal once they’ve returned 10. The packaging will then be sent for recycling. All of the cutlery used is made from cornstarch and biodegrades within 90 days.
